Sam is a designer German Shepherd/ Siberian Husky who is very handsome. But the reason I want to breed him is that I have never met a dog with such an incredible temperament. Since he was a puppy he has known how to "be" in any situation. As a pup he never had an accident, didn't pull on the leash, loved meeting other dogs, and didn't bark. He chewed up one slipper and one shoelace before he learned not to do that. As an adult we enjoy long walks in the woods off the leash and also attending local events like the Mendocino Jazz Society and events at Botanical Garden (on the leash ;-). He knows about 500 English words that are relevant to his life and communicates back in very effective pantomine. I tried the buttons but it seemed so silly when our communication was already effective. Sam does likes to be silly and to pretend that stuffed animals are real, but the buttons seemed stupid to him. As an adult he continues to love other dogs. He will get down on the ground and let little dogs go for his jugular and he will try to engage even the meanest dog that is barking at him behind the fence. He is very empathetic and will not give up on another dog. He is a lover not a fighter and will run from a bear or another large animal (we live in the country so I appreciate these choices!)
