The Cirneco dell'Etna is an Italian breed of hunting dog from the Mediterranean island of Sicily. It is named for the Etna volcano in eastern Sicily. It has a keen sense of smell, and is used to hunt small game, particularly rabbits.
Affectionate and gentle
Like every dog, the Cirneco dell'Etna needs regular exercise to keep in good health, but it can make do with surprisingly little. Around half an hour of daily walking is usually enough to satisfy the dog's minimum requirement, but it does benefit greatly from having further opportunities to play.
