Broad head with lots of wrinkles. They are a very muscular, well set breed, commonly known as the French Mastiff.

They are a very intelligent breed, but they need consistent training. They do not like being left alone, but will offer great protection within the family unit.

This breed does not require much in the way of grooming, but the wrinkles around the face must be kept clean to prevent skin infections.

Origin

Originally from the French estates in the 12th Century, used as a working dog to hunt boar, wolves and bears. These days they are mainly family pets.
