Curious, lively, and intense but mischievous, this little black dog is a robust, long-lived companion for whom there is never a dull moment. Standing no higher than 13 inches, Schipperkes are small dogs built for hard work
Curious, agile, confident, Faithful, independent and fearless
At least half an hour of exercise per day
Bred in Flanders, the Dutch-speaking northern portion of Belgium, the Schipperke descended from the black sheepdog known as the Leauvenaar. The Belgian Sheepdog is also a descendant of this now extinct dog breed.
