*Very* well tempered Anabelle is ready to have her second litter! (The first (6 beauties, 3 boys + 3 girls.) We had an absolutely incredible experience all the way through the pregnancy and rearing process. The pups all went to their new homes last week, and with all the gear (different sized penns, puppy bowls, crates, stimulating and relaxing toys, etc.) I invested in, and the beautiful experience, we’re gearing up for a second, spring litter (contingent, of course, upon solid blood work right before her next heat to make sure she’s ok to undergo the stress of pregnancy again. This is what the vet said but she’s so young and did so well that he said all should be fine. We’ll need to check though, just in case!). Anabelle is due to go into heat early April, yielding early June puppies! We live in Cambridge (across from Boston), MA and are looking for a stud in the general area. Wisdom Panel tested her to be 87.5% purebred (which is the cut off according to google!). We’re interested in having this % or higher, if possible. Description from sites advertising her 1st set of pups this winter: Hailing from the (dry) tropics of Colombia, I bought Anabelle from a veterinarian around 2.5 years ago at 3 months old. She spent her first 9 months with me on my family’s rice and cattle plantation with a pack of dogs (Rottweiler, 2 poodles, malinois, another mini schnauzer, a mini pinscher and a mutt). Together the would chase cattle (and bulls!) aaaall day outdoors and hunt bright blue tailed lizards on the multiple balconies in the evening. In the USA her life has been more tame for the last year and a half but she’s really taken to play fetch (on land and in the water!). She loves all dogs and playing pick-up play games with them. We go to a great dog park (with grass, not gravel or dirt!) Every morning for around an hour to socialize and play (me too!). All of this isn’t quite chasing cattle and lizards but it gets the job done. :-) Anabelle most recently *thoroughly* enjoyed having her first litter. There were times I’d hear her panting, and when I look towards her she’d just give me this killer cute canine smile. :-) The two of us also had an absolutely lovely experience bonding over caring for the pups. Pedigree: Wisdom Panel says she’s 87.5% pure mini schnauzer (87.5% is (incredibly!) actually the cut off for pedigree), with the remaining % as a “small companion dog.” The fact that the parents were raised in different continents (North and South America) means their gene pools ought to be quite different, yielding even healthier pups than normal…they did grow up brilliantly and the vet was very impressed with their health at their 8-week checkup.
