Leopold is coming of age, and we would like to begin studding him out as soon as his OFAs clear at 24 months. We have genetic testing done and will only stud to matches that are compatible genetically with cleared musculoskeletal and organ certifications. Leopold is a handsome 100lb+ boy. He was born all black with a little white tie on Valentines Day 2020 into a large litter of newfypoos; simultaneously, a sheepadoodle litter was also born the same day, so he had many “siblings.” Leopold has shown himself perfectly capable of handling himself in a gentle but assertive manner to twenty litter mates and still manages to be gentle as a full-grown dog with an older, grumpy Bernedoodle brother in our household. Leopold’s temperament is wonderful, and everything you would want from the Newfoundland and Poodle sides: calm but playful; mellow but an excellent exercise companion; extremely happy and curious; good with dogs, children, adults, the elderly, and other animals; not sound sensitive; loves the water; strong, and built for rescue (more Newf than poodle in stature); and highly intelligent. Leopold has a blocky Newfy head and strong, lean build; he is very long and agile. This guy is not a barker, but he will alert to danger (and dive head first into any situation to protect his family). We are certain that combined with the right genetic match, Leopold’s pups will be perfect specimens. We are looking to breed back to Newfoundlands, Poodles, or other Newfypoos to keep the Newfoundland/Poodle temperament and aesthetic. We may potentially be open to other doodles for the generic “Double Doodle,” but we find this label quite ambiguous for potential owners. We are also interested in combining other pure breeds for hybrid vigor and to continue shaping what is already a perfect pairing; if you are open to crafting a more perfect dog with combined genetic advantages, please let us know. (We are extremely interested in healthy, OFA cleared Saint Bernards and Bernese Mountain Dogs with compatible genetics, as we feel these would be an excellent complement to the temperament and aesthetic.) We are willing to do AI for the right dogs, but we do want to prove his breeding credentials before we go that route. If you are out of area but willing to drive to Orlando, we would be happy to stud naturally then continue service using AI; otherwise, we would prefer to naturally breed with bitches in the greater Central Florida Region. Leopold will have a Brucellosis test before each potential mate paid for by dam and require the same. We look forward to hearing from you!
