Harvey, Harvey, Harvey… Dent is a mature, 34-pound blue merle Mini Australian Shepherd, born August 11, 2022. His nickname comes from his striking two-sided appearance: one blue eye, one brown eye, and facial markings that make him look almost like a different dog from each profile. Harvey is exceptionally intelligent, emotionally perceptive, loyal and affectionate. He learns quickly, communicates remarkably well with his people and wants to participate in everything his family is doing. He is active, athletic and highly focused, but also deeply loving and strongly bonded to his family. He is an extraordinary natural athlete with exceptional speed, coordination and tracking ability. Harvey routinely catches long-distance Frisbee throws of 75–100 yards. More importantly, he has the kind of temperament and personality that make people genuinely fall in love with him. Several trusted friends and relatives who know Harvey have already expressed interest in future puppies with his qualities. Embark DNA testing identifies Harvey as 100% Miniature/MAS-type Australian Shepherd. He is a blue merle who carries red/brown (Bb), so depending on the female’s genetics, he may produce blue merle, red merle, black tri or red tri puppies. His complete Embark breed, trait and genetic health report is available for review. Harvey is not registered and does not have transferable pedigree papers. Harvey’s dam, Lagatha, was a 32-pound red merle Mini Australian Shepherd. His sire, Ivar, was a 23-pound registered black tri Mini Australian Shepherd. At Harvey’s most recent veterinary examination, his comprehensive bloodwork was described by his veterinarian as “remarkable.” His medical records, laboratory results and vaccination history are available for review. We are also willing to complete reasonable additional veterinary, health or reproductive screening for the right pairing. We are seeking a healthy, temperamentally sound and appropriately sized Mini Australian Shepherd or Miniature American Shepherd female. Any proposed pairing must be genetically compatible. We are not offering Harvey at stud for financial gain. Our goal is simply to preserve his legacy by raising one of his puppies. Preferred arrangement: first choice of the litter in place of a cash stud fee. For the right pairing, we may also be willing to help with mutually agreed breeding, reproductive or veterinary expenses. If we contribute financially, we would want the arrangement documented in advance so agreed expenses can be reimbursed from placement proceeds before any remaining proceeds are divided. We are flexible regarding breeding logistics. For natural breeding, we can travel with Harvey and stay nearby in our motorhome for the appropriate breeding window—Harvey in the RV, which is why we sometimes call him “RV.” This would allow the dogs to meet and breed under mutually agreed supervision. Harvey is a closely bonded family companion, so we would not be comfortable leaving him at another home unattended for an extended stay. If travel or natural breeding is impractical, we are also open to veterinarian-coordinated semen collection, shipping and artificial insemination. Our goal is to make the process convenient, safe and as low-stress as possible for both dogs and their families. The lifelong welfare of the puppies is very important to us. We would want homes to be thoughtfully screened and placements handled responsibly. If any owner is ever unable to keep their dog, we would be happy for the dog to be returned either to the breeder or directly to us so we can make sure it is safe and appropriately rehomed. Our goal is not to profit from the litter, but to help produce healthy puppies, recover agreed expenses where possible, ensure every puppy has a responsible lifelong home, and bring home the Harvey puppy that is the best fit for our family.
